Welcome! This initiative is dedicated to supporting the well-being of women living with HIV by creating enabling environments that affirm self-determination and safety. This work has been inspired and informed by, with, and for women living with HIV.

Our Mission

In alignment with UN and WHO 2023 targets, the Canadian Calls to Action aim to support the development of enabling environments to influence local and national action across research, policy, health care, and community programming, and enact local and national leadership and collective responsibility to advance the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women living with HIV.

The Canadian Calls to Action were inspired by WHO global consolidated guidelines and aim to add to decades of community activism conducted in Canada by women living with HIV. The Calls align with Canadian research and federal and international guidelines and recommendations.

The Calls are centered around women living with HIV. They are directed towards all individuals and organizations working with, advocating for, and/or providing care to women living with HIV.

The Calls seek to achieve our vision for all women living with HIV in Canada to:

  1. Achieve their highest potential of health, wellbeing, and quality of life
  2. Easily access high-quality care and services regardless of where they live
  3. Be treated with dignity, free from stigma and discrimination
